About The Podcast

Thanks so much for agreeing to be a guest on Kathy Sullivan Explores podcast.

All my guests are brilliant people with fascinating lives, so you’re in good company. If you’d like a direct introduction to any of them, please let me know.

We’ll record using Zoom. The link to the Zoom room will appear in your confirmation email when you book on this page.

You’ll get best sound quality using a USB microphone, if you have one. If not, wired or wireless earbuds work pretty well (make sure noise cancelling is ON!). Then settle into a quiet place close to your router for a fun conversation.

The episode will normally be live within a week or so of us recording it.

Why Now?

I see this podcast as a way to offer some mentoring to many more people I could ever reach in person.

My goal with the podcast is to build a helpful library of work all curious humans can access. I want to have honest conversations that will resonate with people at every stage of their career and life journey.

And finally… because this old dog was interested in learning some new tricks!

What You Can Expect From The Interview

Think of this as the Cliff Notes of your life journey so far. We have 90 minutes to get the tech sorted and explore together in a free-flowing, unscripted conversation. Our production team will edit this down to a roughly 40-minute podcast, cutting out any coughs or verbal stumbles and making us sound brilliant.

I will introduce you at the start and will ask you to tell me a bit about your young self so our listeners get to know you.

A comfortable ride

I want to make sure this is an enjoyable experience for you so please let me know if there are any subjects we should avoid and how you’d like me to address you (eg. Title, Nickname, Pronouns…).
Please just call me Kathy, by the way.

The kind of Questions I’ll Ask

It may be helpful for you to think through the following types of questions before we press record.

  • What kind of kid were you?

  • What was your journey from that child to the person you are now?

  • What were the key hurdles and turning points in your journey?

  • What propelled and sustained you along the way?

  • What do you know now that you wish you had known earlier in your career?

  • What are you excited about now / working on next?

When discussing struggles, please feel free to share what you are comfortable with. I have learned that many of us feel like we are the only ones going through difficult times. It may feel vulnerable to reveal that side of yourself. But hearing where you struggled and how you overcame your challenges gives our listeners insight and tools to get past their barriers.

Share what you feel comfortable with —  and ask me if you want guidance.

We will end the podcast by bringing it back to today, asking you what you’re working on now or doing next. You can use this podcast as a marketing asset, and a way for you to get listeners to further engage with you and your work.

If you have any special offers or announcements, please make sure you let me know, I’ll be sure to promote them to my subscribers!
